But first, I am counting down the days until school starts and so is Ms. Ashleigh who will spend her birthday, her very first day of school ever, in Kindergarten. I think she is more excited than I am.
I must say, this summer was not as bad as last year because we were able to keep the kids a little bit busy. Not busy enough, but busy
All 3 are in gymnastics and the older 2 are in Jiui Jitsu twice a week. When time allows we take them to the pool. Their last swimming class was very successful and the older 2 now know how to swim.
We have 11 more days before I will be home alone for most of the day. The only challenge I foresee is getting the girls ready in the morning. Especially our crier, the emotional one, Alyssa. Mornings can be down right awful. Thank God, Christopher is easy. We’re hoping it’s a little better this time around.
Even in all my excitement, I haven’t touched these as of yet.
Haven’t marked anything off because I’m a last minute kind of mom. Not good. I will be scrambling with the rest of procrastinators, cursing in my head because everything is sold out, probably the weekend before they start. I know, I know……
I am sure I’ll have some stories about Ashleigh in class. These teachers are not ready for her
Soooo……on to the next…we have an addition to the family. I haven’t names her as of yet, but I am so much in love. Meet my new girl…
Here she was all crated up. She came all the way from Florida.
Try your best to ignore what’s going on in the background. I had a huge order of blanks arrive, and I haven’t had the time to organize properly.
I was so excited once she was unpacked, but my excitement died very quickly when I realized she was not as easy to operate as I had thought. I actually had to read the “Book” which surprisingly was as vague as vague can be. Just threading the machine took me forever. Understand, this was hard for me. I am accustomed to picking up in things really quickly, no matter what it is. It took me over a week to be able to get the thing to stitch. I was so excited! Running and jumping all over the place…you should have seen me!
My first stitches
This girl is a monster! The fastest my other machines can go is 1000 and in reality when they’re stitching they only go about 800 or less stitches per minute. This girl can go 1200. I am so excited about this because I will be able to finish my orders even faster!
New software needed to be purchased, and let’s just say, this girl has a lot to learn. I already have PE Design 7. It’s a great program but even after years of having this in my possession, I do not/cannot use this program to it’s full potential.
The software for these machines are not cheap. This time around ApS-Ethos was purchased, which enables me to connect and send files directly to the machine.
Even setting this up gave me trouble, because there needed to be some adjustment with the rate info is transmitted to the machine. I ended up calling the guy who I purchased it from for assistance and he was able to help me. Talk about frustration. I tried on my own for hours, but I am not afraid to admit when I am beat.
(I have not been compensated for linking this company. I am just truly grateful. Brother referred me to this guy. When people do you right, you should let everyone know) There are different levels of software from them, so I encourage you to consider if you are searching.
That’s it from me for now. Off to play with this baby.
