So I’m on a roll!!
It’s been all about me this week and that’s okay
I’m slowly recovering from a dry spell that seemed to last forever. I haven’t had the desire to create anything, until last week. No sewing! No jewelry-making! No nothing!. Everyone who sews knows that when you’re not feeling it you HAVE to leave it alone because whatever you make will be a disaster. Even knowing this I still tried. A few things got thrown in the trash and I have something cut and partially sewed that I think I can save.
Anyway, I’ve had super motivation from the girls over at the 365 Challenge and found a few others that I absolutely love! There’s nothing like seeing this and this and this and this to get you out of a funk. I find myself totally overwhelmed with ideas that I have to put into play. This in itself is a problem since I don’t sketch very well and my memory is really bad.
I’ve always loved bags so hopefully once I get more practice with certain designs I will be ready to offer them on Sexygirl.
Anyways, this is what I’ve been up to this week. I love black & white prints and the Red, Black & White Midnight Kisses fabric from Heidi Grace was among my favourite prints that I’ve purchased yet. And since I love bags so much, I have been on a mission to make stylish totes and bags that I can rock even though it may have a diaper or 2 in them :-).
Oh I also made a sexy apron but since it didn’t come out as round at the bottom as I would like, guess who gets to keep it! These imperfections will continue to occur as long as I keep “free-hand cutting stuff”. My methods are crazy. I’d love to do tutorials for some things but so many times when I cut and sew it’s total madness. I’ll have to work on that.
Here’s my Sloppie Slouchie Bag.
Loads of room inside for all my junk. The B & W fabric on the flap closure is crooked but I’m too lazy to redo so this is it. I especially love my outside gathered pocket which is accented with polka dot fabric. My stuff will be secure because there is elastic at the top
Here’s the crooked-ness but I am really pleased with my buttonhole. There are a few things that I am afraid of doing 1 is inserting a zipper, the other is buttonholes. Yes, my trusty machine does have an automatic buttonhole maker but somehow I always manage to screw it up.
And last night’s project. My small bag. Still enough room to hold my necessities. I enjoyed this so much. I love love love the rich colour.

Conversations Overheard
If it’s one thing I really enjoy doing is listening to my kids talk to each other. I enjoy listening to how they explain things to each other.
A short while ago we went to the mall and they both got to ride the carousel while I sat with a very tired baby. A few days ago I was talking to Christopher and I asked him if he enjoyed the ride on the merry-go-round at the mall? He almost yelled at me! He said: “No mama it’s not a merry-go-round, it’s a carousel”
I didn’t know what to say. So naturally I asked him, “What’s the difference?”
He tells me that a carousel only has horses. A Merry-go-round has different animals.
Is this true? I swear they make me feel so dumb sometimes.
Of course I had to google it! Well while I have found some sources that define it as such others state a difference in the direction the ride turns. So which is it?
I asked him where he learned that from. His answer, “I just know it. My brain told me!” Uhm okay son.
Fast forward to tonight. They both run to the bathroom to go pee. Christopher makes it first so Alyssa is waiting. This is what took place.
Alyssa: (In her tiny high pitched voice) Hey, why you always stand up to do that? I don't do that.
Christopher: Because I have a penis and you don’t.
Alyssa: But I see you sitting sometimes
Conversation ends.
Ooooh how I love them. Even when they talk my ears off, when they scream and fight, I love them
