We had an incident today

Alyssa Ballerina with headband in hand. It never made it to her head

All in all we had a great time at Legoland's Brick or Treat, although I think they were really cheap and stingy with their candy, but what you gonna do? By the time we got there, the boy was already tired but surprisingly he was still manageable. We headed straight for the Enchanted Walk in Knights Kingdom. Such wonderful names, don't you think?

Tired Dracula

Entrance to the Enchanted Walk

We made it with no scenes from the boy. I never even got to fix his cloak. I didn't want to upset him in public and have him cause an embarassing scene so he was lop-sided Dracula.

And the wait begins. They were telling us 10 minutes but it was much quicker than that.

He was so afraid to walk up to the little windows to get the goodies. As you see I had to go with him. The husband didn't get the shot but at one window, he stretched out his hand with the bag while standing so far away from the window, the person had to stand up and stretch really really far. After everytime he got something he would say thankyou in the softess sweetest voice. I couldn't believe this was the same child who screams and sings so loudly at home

This is only my second photo of the year with both kids and myself. I was pretty excited about it. Dracula would not put down the cheese puffs and smile, but that was quite okay. We wanted him to be happy.

This was the first time he had gone on that helicopter ride and by the look on his face he seemed a bit scared. When I asked daddy what was going on over there, he said he was saying "No! Out" before they went up!

So our next stop was the playground. We ditched the cloak and headed for the slides. The boy was having a blast as always. Daddy took him on the train and that's when things turned sour.

The train had stopped so they were getting off. I turned around to start pushing the stroller towards the benches on the playground when my husband showed up ALONE! Then I heard, "where's Christopher?"
"WHAT?" I really didn't take him seriously, "what do you mean where is Christopher. You both just got off the train?"

Alyssa Ballerina, Ninja Mommy & Christopher Dracula

We searched the entire playground. I had not begun to panic as of yet. Maybe because I was so very upset with this man. I sent him to make another rounds on the playground since Christopher has discovered this thing called "hiding". But there was no Christopher.

I immediately went to one of the park people, a lady, and told her my husband lost my son. I then corrected myself, "our" son. She was so calm and placed her hand one my back as I told her of my trouble.

She squats really well

I knew she saw that horrible look on my face. You know the look when you're forcing to hold yourself together but you're ready to go off the edge any minute!

She was manning the doors at the Children's Comedy show place and she took care of the last person who entered and came right back to me. She advised me to stay in an area close-by where I had full view of all directions while she radio-ed in a description of my lost son.

Peek-a-boo Dracula

So we waited and waited. I sent daddy on another search. He kept calling me to find out if they found him because he didn't. Oh what horrible thoughts entered my mind. About 10 minutes later, after I had sent my husband on a search in a different direction, this time towards to entrance/exit, he called me and said they found him.
Alyssa with her best scarey face

One of the Legoland workers was holding his hand and had found him by entrance of the park. The thing is my son never runs this far away from me in places he is unfamiliar with. Now Legoland, we are there all the time and I guess he knows the place but still this is madness. Not to mention my husband's carelessness. I couldn't stop thanking the lady enough because she really took care of business quickly. She told me, "I have 2 kids so I know". She was great! She also told me how surprised she was that I was so calm. Oh little did she know what was going on inside me and I admitted to her it was all pretend. I was scared as hell.

This was just too much excitement for me in one day. We left immediately and I came home to have a drink.

Ghostly Pumpkin #1

So I just completed pumpkin # 1 . One more to go. Even though this looks a little scrappy, I am sure the kids will think it's cool anyway. Anyone else have carving work to share?

Mamas?? Mama??

Genuine Happiness

So my son is now calling me Mamas. Sometimes he says mama then about 1 second later he'll add the "sssssssssssss" I wonder what that is about? He also has a penis dance. I will try to capture it on video to share with the world. He did it last night and my husband was speechless.

We were playing catch with his nasty cow Spot

I went to get some stuff for the kids today, again, just me and Alyssa. All the while in the store she was singing "mamaaaaaa, mamaaaaaa". It was so sweet. I felt so special. She's been saying mama for sometime now but it wasn't really being directed at me. She has a beautiful voice too! Hehehe....

She also seems to be a thief as she tried to grab some lady's purse from right off her shoulder. The funny thing is the lady (she was older) didn't think it was funny. Like my baby girl would grab her stinking purse and run with it. This grump's daughter however thought it was so cute and funny. Her mom was just too uptight!

Someone's found a new toy

and it's not me. My son always plays with his penis but lately he's been doing it more and more. It's not bothering me though. I just can't figure out what's going through his little mind when he's doing it.

These days everything that can wrap around him makes him Superman!
Last week or week before, I don't recall exactly, he tells me booboo mama, and while holding himself he is telling me, kiss it mama. If someone read this not knowing it was my son it would be porn. Oh well! I told him no sweetie. No kisses on that.

UGH....... that ugly recliner. It's broken and the husband won't throw it out
Then on one occasion he came running to me, telling me to open it mama. I said, what? Open mama! Well he had discovered the little hole on the end of his toy and wanted to open it. My explanation: Honey, we can't open it and if you try to it will hurt. That is where your peepee comes out when you go potty. It worked for now.

I saw the booboo in his mouth from the door knob incident in this photo. It's on his gums, starting right between his front teeth and going straight up

Now today, he reminded me of a dog trying to catch it's own tail. He had just finished his shower. Yes he prefers showers now since that is what daddy takes. We had a pile of books to read and I let him read them by himself first while I cleaned up the bathroom. I didn't even dress him yet. I could hear him reading all the books (from memory). He was so proud. After every one I would clap and say yay so that he knew I was listening. He did very well.

Hey, where'd the paint on my toes go?

When I was finished and went in to dress him, he was ofcourse holding his penis and squeezing it this time. I asked him, not to stop, but to be gentle because he will hurt himself. He was pulling on it and stretching the thing like a piece of elastic. I told him again, I guess if it hurt he wouldn't do it right. It was so red. Then as if that wasn't enough, he grabbed on to it again and said, "take a bite mama". Somebody, anybody, tell me where this child is getting these ideas from. So for the next minute or 2 there he was on the bed, all hunched over trying to "take a bite".

After this I am not sure anything he does will surprise me, but if he does something to top all that he has been doing I'll be sure to let you all know.

By the way, I did end up giving him a bath last night and removing the nail polish from his toes.

Second occurrence

The funny thing is, there wasn't a drop of nail polish on the bathroom floor. He was supposed to be brushing his teeth. He ran to me saying booboo mama, booboo. I asked him where and he raised his foot. I must admit when I first glanced at his feet I gasped because it looked like blood.

It's still on his toes and I am too lazy tired to remove it so I'll deal with that in the morning.

Earlier today, we had an accident. I had put him down for his nap. A short while afterward I heard screams coming from the room and in my panicked state, I thought something must be the matter, I rushed in, opening the door with such force. Well he was standing behind the door and the door knob busted his lip. There was so much blood and I got so scared. I was sure the thing would be swollen and blue by this afternoon but surprisingly it's only swollen a little. I don't think anyone else would notice. Hopefully it doesn't get worse tomorrow. Regarding the cold, well I feel a little better(thank you all for the well wishes) but the husband seems to be getting worse. He is not going to work tomorrow. The kids, well Christopher is fine but tonight Alyssa is super congested once again. Hopefully she will wake up better and will stay that way.

I am off to read Christopher a few books and put him to bed .

Cold, Cold, go away

No not the weather. Although I wish California would actually get cold. It's us. My whole family is sick, even the husband. Night before it was just the kids. They took turns waking up screaming so mommy had no rest. I was so tired. Alyssa was the worst. She could barely breathe through her little nostrils and they were all crusty from snot.

When morning came it was me and then later in the day, daddy came down with a sore throat and cough. Miraculously the kids have improved well enough that I think I'll take them outside tomorrow, well later today. No one has gotten up screaming since they went down.

She doesn't have a name yet but when I asked Christopher what her name was he said "Chris"

Last night, Tuesday night, I took Christopher to Walmart to get some trick or treat pails. No his outfit is not completed or even started for that matter but atleast he has a pail and so does Alyssa. I also bought Alyssa her first doll.

It was hard for me since I never played with the things myself. Instead I let my son pick one out. Although I think she could have been a bit cuter, she is brown. I have to take what I can get. I'll get a bunch of different colour ones but I wanted to start off somewhere. Christopher got the last one for us. The shelves were empty.

Notice the hand supporting her head

As you can see he really took to the thing. I kept reminding him that he can take care of the baby tonight but tomorrow he has to give her back to Alyssa. He said okay but I know it will be a different story come tomorrow.

Yes it even had it's own pacifier which he constantly kept putting in and taking out of it's mouth. He was so gentle with the doll and he took her to bed with him. He made her dance and all. He told me she was tired and that it was bed time. He covered her with his blanket and made me give her a hug and kiss. He's such a gentle boy when he wants to be. I'm thinking this may help him to be a little more gentle with Alyssa and not push her so hard or try to sit on her. I told him if he is rough with the baby, the baby will get hurt and start to cry. Just like your baby sister Alyssa.

He even got the wipes and wiped her. That's what he is doing in this photo. He told me she had, "poop in her pants" and those were his exact words.

I had read somewhere that it was healthy for boys to have a dolls too, so I will look for a boy doll for him so that he will give this one up easily. I hope.

Raiders, Raiders everywhere

We're pleased right now with our professional losers. Sunday the 22nd of October, they won their first real game of the year 22 - 9, against the Cardinals. I am so happy because it would really suck if my husband had gone all the way there to witness another loss.
Cliff Branch
Check out the borrowed Super Bowl Ring on my husband's pinky finger!
He was in heaven.

He couldn't have had a better time and got some decent photos. I say decent because he was not allowed to go with my camera, which meant poor zoom power on his dad's take-out-to-the-football-game camera. So now he is in the market for a camera of his own. I thought our back-up camera still worked and that it was just the LCD screen that went bad but after turning it on on Friday, and attempting to take some photos, we realized it's dead. I'll contact Canon and see how far I can go with that.

Husband and his daddy

They stayed in the Hilton where the team was staying. It was very convenient since I knew they'd be drinking. They were within walking distance from everything. The stadium, the airport and wherever else they wanted to go. The food sucked so I will be sending them a complaint e-mail within the next few days on their behalf. I'm a pro at those things. I won't bore you with that story but for a $28 steak, I would expect it to be cooked as you ordered and not have to be taken back 3 times.

And lets not forget the cheerleaders

More cheerleaders at half time. Apparently 400 or so from all over the country. Yes it was that serious

Oh yes, we were about to score
Look at those crazies. I wonder if they knew they snapped their picture

I guess this was taken for proof or for the memories? Probably because we will never see a scoreboard in a Raider game with those numbers, I don't know.

My New encouragement to do laundry

I felt bold on our last trip to Walmart, and instead of buying my usual fabric softener fragrance, Vanilla and Lavendar, I made a drastic change. Drastic for me anyway. The main reason being it was pink and I love pink.

I have been, for the past 2 hours, doing everyone's laundry. Well almost. I don't do the husband's because he's afraid that I will put some of my girly fabric softener in his laundry. He buys his own fabric softener sheets, the Walmart brand which I do not like. He said it works without the smell. Whatever.

It must be something with how the vents are hooked up but some time ago, I discovered that if I run the dryer while the air was on, the fabric softener smell comes through the vents. So even though there is absolutely no need for central air at the moment, it's on. Don't worry, I've closed the vents in the kids rooms.

It's making me so happy right about now. Now if they can invent something that will help me enjoy folding the clothes!

Halloween, here we slowly come

It was such a rush job I am so sorry Alyssa but mommy just has too many things to do. I felt time was creeping up on me. I just needed to make sure the thing fit. So sometime soon I will dress her in complete ballerina gear, headband which I made and all.

We also managed to pick up our first set of crappy pumpkins from Walmart. Christopher heard me mention pumpkins and he kept bugging me so I had to cave in. They're not as bad as they look, now I have to carve them. Hopefully I will find some time next week to take them to a pumpkin patch to pick some more and to get some decent photos.

This morning my husband left for Oakland with his dad and one of his work bussies. They're such loyal Raider fans. I only hope they win their first game of the season tomorrow. I have been so ashamed and it's all their fault. How does a team do so well in the Pre-Season and suck so bad when it really counts?

The last game my husband was so disappointed that he took of his Raider shirt. He always gears up on game day, hat and all.

I felt so down yesterday but I am feeling better tonight. You would think he was gone for a long time. He gets back tomorrow night and he is off on Monday. Let's hope he diesn't get called in to work. Maybe we'll do the Pumpkin Patch then. It would be much easier for me.

Meme ~ Nine weird things about me

I have just been tagged by 1 Girl, 2 Boys, so I'll give it a go.

1. I don't or hardly ever drink directly from a cup. I need a straw

2. I never finish and drink (not necessarily alcohol) completely. If I do I throw up. Something about the bottom of a glass/cup/ what have you

3. I have a habit of getting myself involved in way too much stuff when I know I will never complete half of them. I just need to feel busy.

4. I never ever wanted kids now I want too many

5. I like to smell my husband's armpits. With or without deodorant, he has a wonderful natural smell

6. I hardly ever sleep until my body crashes and says no more

7. I don't get a long with women well and hardly have any female friends

8. I don't like the toilet paper rolling the "right" way, over

9. I like dry uncooked oatmeal

I'm tagging Carrie,
Nadiah, and Ann

Okay Ann since you've done this like twice before you're off the hook!

My new Teacup

Somehow the tea just tastes better

No it's not dirty. That's just the painting on the thing. I'm such a simple girl.

I must be getting old

My blog is a little out of order. I think I wrote his one the same time as I wrote about Christopher running away from me but anyway.

Although most days I don't feel as though I am. Only when I have my backpain issues and I am going through that right now.

Yesterday we did go shopping. The husband actually wrote me a blank check and said to take the kids and go shopping. I took the check but I still have it. He gave me this on Tuesday.

Now my husband must have so much faith in me. Sometimes I think my old ways are hiding only to surface when I least expect it. He knows everything about me. No secrets here. He knows all of my bad habits from when I was a teenager to even right before we got married. If he didn't have so much faith in me he would never leave things related to money or of any value in our home. The old me would have probably sold it and went shopping.

So we went shopping. Walmart was part of that shopping trip because I was hoping to get some Lego Duplos cheaper than the Legoland price but not so. They were $2.00 more and for me that was way too much. This "shopping spree" was supposed to be for me. Instead I bought things for our home. Cleaning supplies, wipes, some snacks for the kids, you name it. I was determined to get something for me. So I saw this nice tea cup, it was only $1.97 and I bought it. I was so excited and couldn't wait to get home, put the kids to bed and enjoy some tea in my brand new tea cup. It's nothing fancy but I like big teacups. I'll take a picture of it later.

When I got home, I quickly put Alyssa to bed and decided to spend some time with just me and Christopher, so we headed to the grocery store. Albertson's to be exact. My intentions were to just get a fruit bowl and 2 cans of evaporated milk. Less than $10 right. Well $85.00 later, I did get my fruit bowl and my evaporated milk but I had a bunch of other things. I was so disappointed in myself but such is the life of a family woman. You never come first even if you try.

Boy have I changed.

Pictures of Christopher's new toy

He loves this thing

I love it too

My son ran away from me....

in Walmart last night. He just ran and hid from me. He's never done this before. He must have ducked through the racks because he surely disappeared quickly. He has moved away from me before but normally I see him. I called out to him and heard nothing. This is also new. I called again and again...I don't know how many times. One of the workers made eye contact with me. She was in the same section and saw him playing right next to me.

She immediately got on the phone and called it in. "What is he wearing?" she asked. Thank goodness my mommy brain didn't kick in. Then I heard on the intercom thing, we have a code.....something. Can't remember the number.

I didn't start to panic yet as I just knew he was hiding closeby. So I knelt on the floor where we both were and looked for his feet. Nothing. He had run even further than I had thought. About 2 minutes later, ofcourse it seemed much longer, I heard over the loud speaker, "We have a missing mommy, please come to register 5". This was at the front of the store. He repeated this twice. I grabbed his luvie out of the shopping cart, for surely he would be scared and all shaken up. All the while I was looking, this wonderful worker was right next to me. Telling me don't worry we'll find him. I think her reassurance, whether she or I believed it or not, made me not panic too much.

I ran to the front of the store to fetch him. I think I asked the man if he found him or something like that, I can't recall but even then I didn't see my Christopher. Then he pointed to the floor and there was my baby laying underneath a clothing rack smiling at me. The man said, "well atleast he doesn't talk to strangers". He did lighten up the mood a bit. They were great!

I grabbed up Christopher and explained to him that he must never run away from mommy like that. And you know what he said? In a very soft and playful voice, he said "Where are you?" Then he smiled and answered his own question, "Hiding!" This boy had heard me all the while yelling for him and he was hiding. Hiding!

We held hands as we walked back to the cart. I told him how scared mommy was. I thanked the lady who initially helped so much. I must have looked like a fright because she asked me if I was okay. I lied and told her yes and thanked her again. As I walked through the store, I realized I was sweating and sick to my stomach. My face felt cold and I was light headed.

So we went to the toy section and I bought him a Hot Wheels Supermax
Transporter. I think that was the name. This particular one came with 7 Hotwheels. I wanted to take a picture of it, but he took it to his room to sleep with it. He kept saying, "thank you mama. I like it"

I just hope my heart is strong enough to deal with other things that will happen during the rest of his life.
Ok I borrowed this from Walmart.com.

So my son likes Pink!

Please excuse the ashy knees
I have no words for this. So I will use this one to reply to comments from the last one. I hope I didn't seem ungrateful to anyone for feeling this way. A few were with me on the whole wanting another girl thing. Tanyetta, please, I have never done anything wrong to you. Now why would you wish twins on me? Hahaha. You too Ann? No twins. If I get them I will take it but that is not one I am hoping for. Crystal, I don't think it's a matter of making me complete or anything. If I don't have another baby I won't feel any less pleased with my life. I can't even say I've always wanted a big family. Since I've had my son though, from the moment I laid eyes on him I knew I wanted more. A girl, I thought at the time would be nice. And I guess that was in the plan.

There is such a big difference with girls. Plus I love being pregnant. I will also admit that I enjoy the attention that I receive. Who wouldn't? Not from the husband. If he gave me anymore attention than he does now he'd have to leave. From everybody else. Labour was much easier, too. No! No drug free births here. I opted quickly for the epidural but she came out so easy. I didn't even start pushing yet when I felt so much pressure I knew her head was almost out. I was the one who called the nurse and told her that she better check me. And even though I had complications after I came home with her it was well worth it and I'd do it again.

I didn't have much trouble with Christopher either. He was in distress for most of the 12 hours of labour and he had a large head so it was just a little harder for me. When he came out, Chris never got to cut the cord as it was wrapped around his neck which is probably when they had to use the vacuum. I have thought that it would be nice for him to have a brother. Next year I will coach him on telling daddy that he wants a brother/sister.

She's always eating something

I think I enjoy the relationship that I have with my mom now so much, that I would love to have that times 2. I'm greedy & selfish..heheheh. Hopefully I will have it with Alyssa regardless of whether or not another girl comes along. Ofcourse I have thought about the special relationship my daughter will have with daddy and I am already getting jealous. But it is just amazing to see my husbands face when he's talking or playing with her. Like I said it's a different "everything" when he is doing the same thing with our son.

Sometimes she falls but she never lets go of the food in her hand

Funny thing is, my brother wanted a daughter as his first child and with him being a man and with many men say they want a son, I was so confused when he told me this. But now I can see why. Still I want to know what is so special and different with a daughter and her daddy. Maybe someone with both a boy and a girl can ask their husband or someone you know. I will ask my husband tomorrow but knowing him he probably doesn't even know.

Nothing better than sharing

In closing I must say that any baby would be appreciated here. I must also add that my husband is his father's only child. So these are his only grand kids. My husband's sister is really his half sister (different daddy) and my father-in-law has asked me twice on different occasions if we're having anymore. Little does he know if I could have things my way I'd have 4.

My husband is more experienced now. He had never held a baby before he held my son. He was different with #2. And just imagine, maybe if #3 comes, he'll even take a chance and give that one a bath. That's another story for another day. Yes my husband will do anything with these kids, except give them a bath. He never has.
